BG Sports Registration 2024/2025

All children will participate in approximately 13 practices and an 8 game season
Practices will start the week of December 2nd.
The games will run from January 4th - Feb. 23rd

All teams will have a 15 minute devotion at each practice that will be led by the head coach. They will also be given a memory verse that we encourage them to learn.

We will have an award Banquet the evening of Feb. 23.

Leagues Descriptions:

Instructional Basketball- (Pre K-Kindergarten) Co-ed. Children will begin to learn to dribble and shoot,
play defense, and be a good sport and teammate. Games will be played on half-court with 6ft high goals.
These kids will practice 30mins befor their games and then play for 30 min.

1st-2nd Grade Basketball- Co-ed. Players continue learning game rules (walk, double dribble, fouls).
Referees will begin to call egregious infractions (carrying the ball like a football, hard fouls, etc).
Games played on half-court with 8ft goals.
These kids will have one 1 hour practice throughout the week.

3rd-4th Grade Basketball- Co-ed. Players are expected to follow most all rules of the game. Walking, double
dribbling, fouls are all called. Players begin to learn set offensive plays. Games are played on half-court with 9ft goals.
These kids will have one 1 hour practice throughout the week.


5th-6th Grade Basketball- Co-ed teams. Standard basketball rules are followed. Zone defense is taught and encouraged. Games are played on full court with 10ft goals.
These kids will have one 1 hour practice throughout the week.


Cheerleading- PreK-6th grade. Will practice once a week and rotate cheering at 1 game each Saturday. They will learn various cheers and chants and either a dance or stunt to perform at our award ceremony.
These kids will have one 1 hour practice throughout the week.

Practice Availability

1ST-6TH Grade will take place Monday, Thursday or Friday evenings.
 
Please note that we have limited practice times and they are schedule when coaches are available.

Concession Tokens:
Make concessions easier on you. For $16 for the year, your child will recieve a token at the end of each game to use at the concession stand. He/she may turn that token in to select a drink (non soda) and a food or snack item.
